Every coat is different, so tangled or matted coats are assessed individually when your dog arrives. Light tangles can sometimes be brushed out as part of the groom.
Heavier matting is a different story. Mats pull on the skin, can be uncomfortable, and may hide irritation underneath. When matting is severe, clipping the coat short is often the kindest option for your dog’s comfort — and it gives the coat a fresh start to grow back healthy.
We can’t promise that every mat can be brushed out, but we will always talk with you about your dog’s coat and the options before we begin. Regular brushing at home and a consistent grooming schedule are the best ways to keep mats from forming.
